Early Orthodontic Considerations for the General Dentist
Presented by Dr. Clint Wire
Course Description
Early orthodontic concerns can be easy to miss during routine pediatric exams, but recognizing them at the right time can make a meaningful difference in a child’s oral health and future treatment.
This practical course will help general dentists identify developing orthodontic issues in younger patients, understand what can be monitored, and recognize when a referral may be appropriate. Through clinical examples and real-world insights, Dr. Wire will provide a straightforward approach that can be applied immediately in everyday practice.
Attendees will learn how to:
Recognize common early orthodontic concerns during routine exams
Identify signs that warrant monitoring versus referral
Better understand timing considerations for orthodontic evaluation
Improve communication and coordination between general dentists and orthodontists
Apply practical orthodontic screening concepts to pediatric patients
