Building a Financially Healthy Dental Practice & the Cash Surplus Playbook
Presented by Tanner Woolley, CPA, CFP®
Course Description:
Running a successful dental practice requires more than strong clinical skills. Practice owners also need a clear understanding of their numbers and a plan for what to do with the money their practice generates.
This practical session will focus on the financial metrics that matter most, common patterns that quietly reduce profitability, and a simple framework for putting monthly cash surplus to work.
Attendees will learn how to:
- Identify the key financial metrics and benchmarks that indicate practice health
- Read a practice P&L from an owner’s perspective and know which numbers deserve attention
- Recognize four common financial dysfunctions in owner-operated practices and how to address them
- Use a tiered approach for allocating excess cash among reserves, taxes, retirement, wealth building, and practice debt
