Course Description
Gingival recession around teeth and implants is a common concern in dental practice and can impact both oral health and long-term tissue stability. This course will explore the causes and clinical features of gingival recession, the different types of soft tissue grafts available, and how to determine when treatment is appropriate.
Attendees will gain a practical understanding of treatment timing, grafting options and alternatives, with a focus on achieving stable soft tissue around both natural teeth and implants.
Attendees will learn how to:
- Identify factors that contribute to gingival recession and strategies for prevention
- Understand the benefits of soft tissue grafting and its role in improving oral health
- Evaluate when grafting should be considered and review alternative treatment options based on current evidence
About the Speaker
Dr. Andrea Pizzini is a board-certified periodontist practicing in the Inland Northwest. He earned his dental degree in Madrid, Spain, completed advanced implantology training through the Spanish Society of Dental Implants, and later completed his postgraduate training in Periodontics and a Master of Science in Dentistry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He has also served as a clinical assistant professor in periodontics at West Virginia University.
